Assessor Training Course

Assessor training course is designed for individuals who want to become assessors within their fields of expertise, particularly within the fields of Education Training and Development

Practices (EDTP) and Human Resource Development. ETDP assessors are responsible for evaluating the performance and competency of learners in various educational and training settings.

The course will cover topics such as assessment methodologies, designing assessment tools, conducting fair and valid assessments, providing constructive feedback, maintaining assessment records, and reviewing assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses.

The duration of the assessor training course is typically 3-days and is outcome based and assessed according to various unit standards and outcomes. Assessment criteria consists of a formative assessment, in-class assessments and summative assessment.

Role of an ETDP Assessor: An ETDP assessor assesses learners' knowledge, skills, and competencies in accordance with specific standards and qualifications. They ensure that learners meet the required outcomes and demonstrate proficiency in their chosen field.

Competency Assessment: As an assessor, you'll be responsible for designing assessment tools and conducting assessments to evaluate learners' performance. This involves preparing, conducting and providing feedback on assessments as well as reviewing assessments.

Requirements and Qualifications: The credit calculation assumes that those starting this unit standard have no previous assessment experience.
